Time to read min

You may find that airport lounges provide a comfortable environment for you to unwind and relax before or after your flight. If you travel frequently with United Airlines, you may already know that the airline offers access to several of its luxurious United lounges to its premium class passengers, frequent flyers and members of certain loyalty programs.

In this guide, we'll provide you with information you need to know about United lounges, including their amenities and policies.

    United Club® lounge

United Airlines offers a place for passengers to relax before or after their flight. The United Club® lounge is available to United Club members, Star Alliance Gold members, passengers traveling in United Polaris business class or United first class, or passengers who purchase a one-time pass.

United Club lounge amenities and perks

Each lounge offers different amenities and services, depending on the airport. But in general, you'll find a range of amenities to make your travel experience a less stressful one. This includes complimentary refreshments, drinks (including alcohol in some locations), spacious areas to sit, private restrooms and high-speed Wi-Fi.

    How to access United lounges

To enter a lounge, you'll need a boarding pass for same-day travel, along with either a one-time pass, your valid United Club membership card or an eligible United credit card. Below are more details on how to access a lounge with those credentials, though keep in mind these are subject to change. You'll want to visit United.com to confirm the most up-to-date policies.

    Loyalty membership

Access to United lounges is primarily available to United Club members, United Polaris business class customers, Star Alliance Gold members and other eligible travelers. United Club membership is available for purchase and prices are based on your current MileagePlus status level (subject to change).

    Ticket class

Passengers traveling in the United Polaris business class have automatic access to the United Club lounge. Star Alliance Gold members can access United Club Lounges when traveling on a Star Alliance member airline flight.

    Membership through a credit card

Some United credit cards provide a United Club membership to card members. This membership can provide access to United Club lounges. If you have either a United Club℠ Business Card or UnitedClub℠ Infinite Card, you can receive a United Club membership and useit to access United Club lounges.

If you don't already have a United credit card, there are various benefits you could enjoy in addition to United Club lounge access.

    One-time pass

A United Club one-time pass provides one person admission to a United Club lounge location. The pass is good for a single use and does not include admission for guests. Children under 2 years old may accompany someone with a one-time pass into a United Club lounge. The expiration date will be printed on the passes, and they are not refundable, sellable or transferrable.

A valid mobile or paper United Club one-time pass and boarding pass for same-day travel on United, Star Alliance or a contracted partner operated flight must be presented.

As of July 2023, the price of a one-time pass is $59.

You can buy a one-time pass on the United mobile app, which is also handy to have if you need to view or manage your flight information.

    United Lounge locations

As of 2023, United has over 45 United Club Lounge locations worldwide, including in major airports such as New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and London. You can find most United Club Lounges in the airport terminals, usually near the gates for United Airlines flights.

    Lounge rules and policies

United Club Lounges have several rules and policies to ensure a comfortable and safe environment for all members and guests. You'll want to review these policies at United.com to find the most current information.

    In summary

Overall, United Club Lounges can be a great place to relax, refresh and recharge before your flight.
