1. Minority Business Enterprise (MBE)

A business growth engine for systemically excluded communities

According to the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), MBE is the designation for businesses that are 51% owned, operated and controlled by ethnic minorities. MBE certification is run through NMSDC, an organization that has been championing economic equity and advancement for more than 50 years. Its impact goes far beyond supplier diversity:

  • Over 17,000 MBEs connected to more than 1,700 corporations
  • $482 billion in economic output annually
  • 1.8 million jobs
