1. Minority Business Enterprise (MBE)
A business growth engine for systemically excluded communities
According to the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), MBE is the designation for businesses that are 51% owned, operated and controlled by ethnic minorities. MBE certification is run through NMSDC, an organization that has been championing economic equity and advancement for 50 years. Its impact goes far beyond supplier diversity:
- Over 15,000 MBEs connected to more than 1,500 corporations
- $400 billion in economic output annually
- 1.75 million jobs
